佐多岬にゴールしたとき、たくさんの報道陣の方々から取材をして頂きました。
私たちのゴールの瞬間を、そして今までの旅の終結を伝えて頂き本当に本当にありがとうございました！

無理だと思ってもやったら出来た！！

昨日の午後2時30分頃、最南端の佐多岬に無事到着しました！！最後の20キロは起伏が激しく、加えて横殴りの強風が吹き荒れていて、最後に相応しい試練でしたが、やりおえることが出来たのはここまで支えてくれた皆さんのお陰です。今まで本当にありがとうございました！
とりあえず携帯で手短に。写真のアップなど近日中にしますのでまたチェックお願いします！189 days and more than 2700kms after starting this crazy challenge to walk the length of japan on a pair of bamboo stilts, we finally reached cape sata yesterday, at 2.30 pm. the challenge definitely peaked at the end with the steepest roads we have walked and the worst weather by far. winds at the cape the night before had wreaked havoc with our tent and had strengthened when we set off at 7 on the last day making us work for each and every step. but with the help of some great supporters and the knowledge that we were being cheered on by so many back home and in japan we managed to get there in one piece. it has been an amazing journey that we haven't fully taken in yet, but one that would never have been possible without the support of everyone along the way. it was a challenge that nobody had been abl
e to do before and we know why. but we could because of the cheers along the way, the calls, the mails. thank you so much. we haven't stopped since yesterday andit doesn't look like we will be able to for a few days yet, but when we do we will put up the photos, and let you know more about that amazing day,and i will try and get those blogs up. thank you all so much.

花束のプレゼント

お母さんと子供達が花束を用意して待っててくれました！花束をもらうのは初めてです☆嬉しいサプライズをありがとうございました！yesterday we received our first flowers from airichan, sena chan and nanasechan, three kids who had driven past earlier and who had waited for us to pass in front of their house. they were all full of beans and made our afternoon. thanks guys.

最後の晩餐

今日はなんと！鹿児島の古賀さんとまさみさんが佐多まで来てくれました！TV制作をしている高橋さんとそのお友達も加えて焼酎で前祝いしました。こんな最後の晩餐が出来るなんて最高です！ありがとう！！

ネッピー館の須崎さん

our stay at neppi kan in nejime might havegiven us more than a great memory. suzaki san, the manager today came to tell us he was placing a donation box in the hotel and also to offer us some chances to work together with neppi kan to talk to children about the challenge and how they can help from here. tomorrow may be the end in one way, but it will be the start ofg so many others.
ネッピー館の館長さんの須崎さんが途中でお水を持って来てくれました！そしてご好意でネッピー館に募金箱を置いて下さるというのです。ご自身でもこういう活動にご興味があるという須崎さん。鹿児島の人も本当に優しいです☆ありがとうございます！

道の駅で写真をとってくれたおじさんが、またお餅とポンカンと出来上がった写真を持って戻って来てくれました！肥後さんありがとうございました！
best name for a fruit goes to kagoshima's ponkan. thanks to higo san we have been able to eat them all morning. thanks higo san.

最後の道の駅

最南端の道の駅。今まで道の駅には本当〜に助けられました！ありがとう(T_T)
we owe a lot to japan's system of michi no ekis or road stations. as a place to pitch a tent or to fill empty stomachs or to just have a rest during a long day, we know for sure that it would have been even more challenging without them. as we pass into to sata town, we als pass our last michi no eki at nejime. from hokkaido to kyushuthank you.

日本最南端の温泉ネッピー館

今日は私達の結婚記念日なのです。ミックが内緒でネッピー館の人とお部屋の交渉をしてくれ、こんな素敵なホテルに泊まることに！しかも館長の須崎さんが結婚記念日だからと薩摩焼酎とオリジナルの湯呑みをプレゼントしてくれました！一緒にとった写真までオリジナルアレンジしてくれて本当に言葉もでません。こんなに素敵な記念日をありがとうございました！ネッピー館また来ますねo(^-^)o
everyone, please meet suzaki san, the manager of neppi kan in nejime. after hearing it was our wedding anniversary he has single handedly made this a sttay that we will never forget, starting from a 50 ppercentdiscount for our room, to a poster of us on his wall, free drinks at the hotel restaurant, and a bottle of the area's famous sake. suzaki san thank you so much.

ネッピー館で会った東さん

ビーパルを見て私達のことを探しにきてくれました！仕事終わりに寄付金を渡しに来てくれた東さん、ありがとうございました！
our third last day and our wedding anniversary. no camping today.so here we are in kagoshima's most southerly hot spring hotel receiving some unbelievable attention as well as meeting a great supporter in higashi san. after reading bepal he drove to find us here in order to give us a donation for pongo's forest. thank you higashi san.

野村さんありがとうございました！

お正月でどこのお店もあいていなくて途方にくれていたところで出会った野村さん。食堂がないか聞いたら、何もないからうちでお餅でも食べなさいと行ってお家に連れていってくれました。そしてお家にも泊めてくれました！あと佐多岬まで3日というところで素晴らしい思い出を作れました。ありがとうございました！
we never thought we'd have such a nice encounter so close to the finish but as westopped to change the wire on the stilts for probably the last time, we met nomura san who was outfor a walk. while our maps said there was a town here, he confirmed the sight that faced us, we were in no man's land. before we could figureout a plan however, he had us walking back to his house for warm tea, followed by an offer to stay the night. with rain falling soon after we werethankful for th offer from this kind man who gave us a memory we wouldn't forget. tHANK YOU NOMURA SAN.

お正月の救世主

犬のナナちゃんを散歩中に声をかけてきてくれました。
「カンパさせて下さい。今日見かけたの3度目なんです」
車で2度、散歩中に1度見かけたので3度目は声をかけようと思ってくれたそうです。私達のチャレンジを説明し、募金にさせて頂くことにしました。そしてなんと！野宿しようと思っていたら空き家に泊めてくださると言うのです。1、2分話しただけの私達にどうしてこんなに良くしてくれるのでしょう。信じられません！松山さん、本当〜にありがとうございました！
matsuyama san is the name of another person you'll hear more of later. a person who found us while walking his dog and offered us the use of his spare house. no questions about what we wer doing on stilts. no worries about who we were. just that it would be a cold night and we were better off inside than out and that he could help. matsuyama san thank you so much. i hope you found our package for you.

おせち料理

先程のお餅に続き、まさかのおせち料理の差し入れを頂きました！お正月のおすそ分け、本当にありがとうございました☆
new year in japan is not complete without osechi ryori, an overpriced, undercooked, assortment of unappetizing bits and pieces colourfully arranged to make you feel like you want to eat it, but ultimately unsatisfying when you do. however, when it is offered to you on a cold new year's day andyou only have brown sugar sweets in your bag, and everything else is closed, osechi ryori is like heaven.

豚汁とおもち

凍るような寒さの中、暖かい豚汁とお餅を頂きました。今日はお正月なのに歩かなくてはいけなくて少し寂しかったので、お正月らしい朝を迎えることが出来て嬉しい！

今日ＳＡＳＵＫＥをやっていて夢中で見てしまいましたf^_^;なぜかというと、ミックはもともとＳＡＳＵＫＥが大好きで（一度出場するための履歴書を書かされたことあります）昨年の9月にやっているのを私の携帯TVでみていたのです。ファイナルで長野さんがゴールする直前で充電が切れてしまい雄叫びを上げてしまったのを覚えています。そこは忘れもしない富山県の道の駅。あの頃からもうここまで来たんだなぁとなんだか嬉しい気持ちです。今回は長野さんが第一ステージで終わってしまい残念でしたが、男の世界って感じで素敵ですね！竹馬より難しいだろうなぁ
