the world always gets a little smaller when you travel and we found that out today when we were stopped with shouts of 'mick. miki.' as the motorbike pulled up and the helmet came off, we were surprised to see shiitake san, a rider wehad met in an out of theway cave in aomori months before. he was on his way down to okinawa when he bumped into us. and he did so right out the front of a lottery agency. we couldn't resist the call of fate and went inside to buy entries forthe new year jackpot. as luck, or fate would have it, the shop was run by a lady called oomori san (big forest), whose friend was a photographer whose passion was taking snaps of orangutans. the shop also was full of pics of pongo. coincidence? another amazing happening.
