After summer, the number of travellers that we have met have thinned considerably. Travelling, it seemed was a summer pursuit, which ended with the warm weather. As such it was a nice surprise to come across this lone cyclist, loaded down with bags on a tiny bike pedalling toward us as we crossed the ShimanamiKaido. Raymond was Taiwanese, our first foreign traveller on this trip, and had clocked almost 15000kms on his chainless bike since leaving Singapore in January. Doing what all his friends said he couldn't was a motivation that sounded very familiar to us. It was a nice chance meeting that left us feeling ready for our last trek toward Kyushu!
Good Luck Raymond!! See you in Tokyo if our timing is right!
